Darla June Pszeniczny, 86, of Fairmount Springs passed away on Wednesday, August13th at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Salem Township, daughter of the late Harold and S. Elizabeth Seely Davis. She was a graduate of the Berwick High School class of1957. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a cleaner at Northwest Area Schools. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish St. Martha's Church where she was active in the garden club and many other church activities.
She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and confidante.
As a child, she loved Scouts and Camp Lavigne. Rock-n-roll, dancing and roller-skating kept her busy as a teenager. She was proud to be a Betty Crocker Award winner in high school. She would soon become a great cook and homemaker for her family of eight. She loved New York City and Broadway. A professional seamstress, she made countless dresses, costumes and clothes for other people. Her "Just Jeans" business selling and hemming new and used jeans funded her dream home. Her favorite travels took her to Europe and Africa.
Surviving are her children Anthony (Sylvia) of Mountain Top, Catherine (Philip) Peters of
Chardon, OH, John (Huey) of Upperco, MD, and Daniel of Fairmount Springs; grandchildren Leigh (Andrew), Leandra (Vitali), Sarah, Emily (Ryan), Aimee (Daniel), Haley, Jessica, Mari (Joel), Mae (Mark), Dana; great grandchildren Hayden, Conor and Wolfgang; siblings, Glenn, Cindy Hoyt and Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Darla was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years John, sons Edward and Christopher, and siblings Harold, Ronald, and Nancy Voght.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 22nd, at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Parish/St. Martha's Church, 260 Bonnieville Road, Stillwater. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny.
