Gloria S. McVey

Gloria S. McVey 94, formerly of Shickshinny Lake and Berwick passed away to be with her Lord on June 29, 2025, at Celebration Villa, Berwick.

She was born in Dover, New Jersey, the daughter of the late David and Florence Ascough Scudder.

Gloria was employed as an administrative assistant for the Crum and Foster Insurance Company, as well as her favorite place of employment, RCA Record Company.

Gloria loved many things, her family, church, music, dogs bowling, and fishing. She always belonged to the church choirs, community choirs, particularly the Pocono Choral Society and Town Hill Choir.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Don, who was her caregiver and could not have had a better one. Thank you, Don, siblings Donald Scudder and Janet Jarvis.

Her children Robbi and Colleen were wonderful calling her and constantly checking on her. Thank you, Robbi and Colleen. Her out of state children are Judie, Dale, Jean, and David.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the McKendree Independent Church, 477 McKendree Road, Shickshinny, with the Rev. Roger Noss officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny.
