Max Humen

Max Humen, 92, of Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 8th in Berwick, Pennsylvania.

Max was born in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania to the late Chris and Pearl (Deliman) Humen on March 14, 1933. He was a graduate of Lake Ariel High School and served four years in the US Navy and six years in the US Air Force. Max married Eugenia Truchon in 1969 and together they raised their family on their farm in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania.

Max was an avid outdoorsman and hunted for over 75 years. In later life, he dedicated much time to the Over 50 Club, his local Veterans of Foreign Wars service organization, and greatly enjoyed his friends and neighbors in his community. The last years of his life were at Celebration Villa in Berwick, PA, together with his wife, Eugenia, who passed away in 2025.

Max is survived by his son, Nick Humen of Palm Springs, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Elizabeth Humen of Vienna, VA; and granddaughters Sasha and Cozette Humen of Vienna, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Divine Liturgy will be held at on Friday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 153 Main Street, Glen Lyon.

Family and friends are asked to go directly to church on Friday morning.

Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, West Kirmar Avenue, Glen Lyon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
